Every Von Rose piece begins with a base of high-quality 925 sterling silver, known for its strength, shine, and skin-friendly properties. Sterling silver is made of 92.5% pure silver, blended with a small amount of other metals for added durability — making it hypoallergenic and tarnish-resistant, perfect for everyday wear and gentle on sensitive skin.
To create our signature warm golden tone, we use gold vermeil — not to be confused with regular gold plating. Each piece is coated with a thick layer of real 18k gold, at 3.0 microns, which is significantly thicker than standard plated jewelry - offering you fine jewelry quality at an accessible price.
What’s the difference? Gold-plated jewelry often uses cheap metals and very thin layers of gold that wear off quickly. Gold vermeil, on the other hand, is fine jewelry quality — with a sterling silver core and thicker gold coating. This ensures a longer-lasting finish, greater durability, and a luxurious feel that won’t easily fade with time.
